To ensure your car wash soaps are set at their optimal cleaning strength it is important to perform a titration test regularly. A weekly test on your self serve and automatic soaps will give you a clear picture of any fluctuations in strength, excessive use of product, equipment maintenance or poor cleaning performance. In turn, you can act quickly to rectify any problems or make required adjustments. It’s a great idea to draw up a table to record your results, that way you can compare your results and learn more about cleaning performance. If you need to order a titration test kit or require more information on how to perform the test, including what your recommended titration levels should be, please call Prowash on (03) 8340 3200 for assistance.

You can check the quality of your spot free water with a TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) meter. TDS is measured in parts per million (ppm). When testing the quality of the spot free water it is important to check both the water in the tank and the water being produced by the R/O system as it enters the tank. Whilst the R/O system may be producing good quality water, the tank could become contaminated due to the lid being left off or a faulty check valve. Ideally, for a spot free finish you should be recording a reading of below 10ppm, some systems will attain a 0ppm when supplied with good quality town water.

Located inside the Prowash Power Vac main door you will find two openings leading to the filter bags (top) and vacuum waste bucket (bottom). Both of these openings have rubber door seals and once these seals have worn your suction power will be affected. If you purchase a length of Pinchweld Vacuum Door Seal (sold per metre) you can easily remove the old seal and replace it to increase your vacuum suction power. Maybe if your vacs don’t suck the way they used to, it’s time to replace your door seals. You will need about 2 ½ metres per Prowash iVac Vacuum.
