Generant Pressure Regulator (Genreg)
Generant Pressure Regulators, commonly called Genregs, are installed on Prowash iWash pump stands to control hot and cold water supply to the inlet of high‑pressure CAT pumps. They regulate inlet pressure to a stable 22 psi, ensuring consistent pump performance.
Although Genregs are designed for long service life, components such as diaphragms, plungers, springs, and internal filters naturally wear over time. Regular maintenance is essential. We recommend inspecting and cleaning filters every six months.
Properly functioning Genregs ensure correct flow and stable 22 psi inlet pressure, which supports:
Failure to maintain a Genreg can lead to:
Ultimately, a well‑maintained Genreg protects your equipment and ensures customers receive strong pressure and consistent chemical delivery during their wash experience.

See images below of Genregs in need of servicing:
This plunger (on the left) is deformed and about to loose its seal leading to either partially blocked flow and/or un-regulated inlet pressure to the pump.

The spring on the right has corroded due to the diaphragm leaking.

The plunger pin is worn, this one was kitted in time before the pin snapped.

This spring and plunger have seen better days.

This inlet filter on the Genreg was due for a good clean to keep water flow to the high-pressure pump sufficient.

You can see the centre of this plunger is extremely worn compared to the new plunger that was to be installed.

Last but not least, if the Genreg body is worn – you can feel it, or using an inspection mirror, you will see the worn seat in the centre. This would not warrant a kit. In this case the complete Genreg will need to be replaced.
