The E-Chain is installed along the bridge rail and is vital to the operation of your PDQ Touchfree LaserWash. This e-chain houses all of the energy supplies from the plantroom to the bridge of the LaserWash. Including; 415V supply power, 24V control power, comms cable, solution hoses and air supply. This is the pivot point that allows all of the energy supplies and product paths to move along with the bridge and traverse from the front to the back of the bay.
If an e-chain is showing significant signs of wear or is sagging down, this is a sign that the e-chain may fail and as a result the wash will be down and not washing cars until it is replaced. This failure may also damage cables and hoses in the process. The e-chain should be part of your preventative maintenance schedule. It should be thoroughly inspected and replaced, if necessary, prior to failure.
When replacing an e-chain this is a good time to inspect and replace cable and hoses if they are showing signs of wear or are original and have washed countless cars.
