Things To Consider

Q: What is the cost of turnkey operation and how long will it take?
A: Because Prowash don’t actually construct the building part of the carwash, we’re unable to give you an actual turnkey operation cost. However, in discussion with you, we can give you examples of indicative costs from existing car wash sites. As we are an equipment supplier only it is also hard for us to give you a guide on how long it will take for your site to be ready for business.  However, we can tell you that the construction phase of the site will take longer than it will for us to import the Touchfree Automatic, or to manufacture the self serve car wash equipment. We work closely with you during the construction of you site to ensure that your installation is not delayed.  And as an indication, the average site development is 3 months from the start of construction to the facility opening for business.

Q: Does Prowash offer finance for the equipment purchased?
A: Prowash does not offer finance for the purchase of your equipment although our payment terms are staggered so that making payment is easier.

Q: How much water does an average car wash use?
A: Some time ago the Australian Car Wash Association conducted a study on the average amount of water used while washing your car at home. They determined that the amount was around 240 litres.  This was back in the days when you were permitted to wash your car with the hose.  In most locations now you can only wash your car at home with a bucket, so the figures have inevitably altered.  To give you an idea of how this compares to using a self serve car wash bay, on average a wash using all the functions will use approximately 75 litres of water. That’s a huge difference. However, with the Laserwash, the use of high-pressure water and chemicals to clean your car, instead of brushes, means it uses about 250-300 litres.

Q: How do I find out what water treatment facilities are required on site?
A: If you contact your local council, they should be able to assist you with this.  In most cases, you are required to have a triple interceptor pit on site, or a plate separator.  Your local council will provide you with specifics on this, which will enable you to further investigate the options available to you.  In some locations where water restrictions are in place, water recycling is a must. So it’s best to find out exactly what is required before investigating further.  If you need further information on plate separators or water recycling, visit the Cleanawater website.

Q: Is on-site security an issue and should I have security cameras?
A: Some sites are more prone to vandalism than others so it is up to your own discretion to determine if security cameras are required.  If you think your site may be targeted, then video surveillance is recommended. With remote monitoring available, you can check your site while sitting in the comfort of your own home or office.  Other methods of security include regular site visits by local security companies or the local police.  Prowash highly recommend video surveillance to avoid any on-site disturbances or vandalism.
